I would guess post-1960 as not long after 1960, the all grass track had the 'ends' replaced by sand to save on the wear & tear. I didn't know the entire track was later altered too. Judging by the lack of spectators, it might have been a daytime practice session.

the blond girl is Pamela Addshead Iwould guess the date between 1965 1970 she is with the first dog in the last picture

I believe the man standing in the picture with the no 1 on the dog in the winners enclosure is
David Quickendon. Retired butcher.

I used to go to 'The Dogs' with my late father in the late 50s/early 60s and the track was entirely grass then I believe the bends were made from sand. The inner field was always immaculate in 'my time' with neatly mown grass and flower beds of geraniums.  How sad and run down it looks there. My father went there every Saturday evening for years and years.

Hi Phil,
can't help much only to say that my Father used to work at the stadium during the early '60's. his job was general maintenance, gardening etc and occasionally I would assist. Not much help I'm afraid but it brought back memories.
