Is this the one at Chatham Place ?  It's still going strong and is affiliated to the CIU.

Hi RossM. Most likely this is the one in Chatham Place as the East Kent Arms just round the corner at 27 Chatham Street was renowned as the Miners' pub of Ramsgate.

Although I now live in Minster, I'm still a member of the club.  Don't get in there as often as I used to but it's still going strong, still gets a good crowd in there and, most importantly, is still good for a cheaper drink !

During the 1950s and 60s, the CIU was in George Street.  This was very close to the back of our house in Effingham Street.  We could hear the customers singing pub songs in the evening, which kept me awake as an 8-year-old.
